Natalya Gantimurova from Moscow has been chosen as the newMiss Russia 2011 during the annual ceremony held on March 5th.
Natalya, who was crowned by outgoing queen Irina Antonenko -and by the reigning Miss Universe Jimena Navarrete- stands 174 cm tall and is expected to represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in September, and/or the Miss World pageant to take place in December.
The 1st runner-up or “Vice-Miss” is Anastasia Mashukova from Krasnoyarsk. The 2nd runner-up is Yana Dubnik from Novosibirsk.
50 women competed in the contest. A panel of judges chose then a Top 15, and a Top 10 who competed in the interview round. A finalist from the contest will also represent Russia in Miss Supranational 2011 to be held in Poland in August.
