Where should you be on March 31st? Well, if you're a kid you'll be watching Will Smith host the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards. If you're a good parent, you'll be watching it with them. At least that will be your excuse.
Why is this fun for the whole family? Let's see, there are super popular celebrities being slimed, what's not to love? Besides, this is going to be a lot cleaner than most award shows and it is bound to be more entertaining!
Who is going to be there? Almost everyone! This kid friendly event is being hosted by Will Smith. Already there are commercials promoting the event. Will has been accompanied by the likes of Cameron Diaz and Daniel Radcliff during these fun TV spots, searching for the identity of "The Creepy Voice", who is trying to stop Will from getting to the awards show. It's likely that you'll see your favorite star strut across the orange carpet. That's right, orange.
Then there are the nominees. Selena Gomez (Singer/Actress, Wizards of Waverly Place) and Katy Perry (Singer/Animated Voice, The Smurfs) are up for 3 awards. The two ladies are even competitors in one category, Favorite Female Singer. They'll have their work cut out for them because Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift are up for the same award.
The Favorite Male Actor category has some surprising nominees. Jack Short (A.N.T Farm) and Alex Heartman (Power Rangers Samurai) are competing against TV veteran Tim Allen (Last Man Standing) and an equally funny man, Ty Burrell (Modern Family).
Don't worry book lovers; there is a category for you too! Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games series, and the Twilight series are all there, ready to battle it out. Can The Hunger Games out shine Twilight? Will the Harry Potter series be the one who won? Or will Diary of a Wimpy Kid beat up the competition?
